MICROMINE was in Pangkalpinang, Indonesia on August 16th to attend the Bangka Tin Mining Technology Seminar.
Supported by the Indonesian Forum for Mineral Exploration and Development Indonesia (EMD), the event brought together those in the mining, exploration and technology industries to discuss tin mining and the new technology available to the industry.
MICROMINE Regional Manager, Myke Jones, commented “With the scale of tin mining around Indonesia and surrounding countries, it’s important for those involved to know what the latest technology available is in order to keep your operation running at peak efficiency. We were very excited to be able to speak about Micromine’s functionality and how it can assist tin operations.”
Five companies, including MICROMINE, provided presentations on the latest technology available for the exploration, mining and processing of tin ore.
Micromine Technical Services Manager, Fajar Setiawan, and Systems Specialist, Mulya Ramadhany, discussed the capabilities of MICROMINE’s exploration and 3D mine design solution, Micromine in their presentation ‘Systems and Technology for Tin Exploration and Mining’ and how tin operations would benefit from the implementation of Micromine.
“Micromine’s stratigraphic modelling module allows users to generate a seam block model (SBM) from a tin deposit. SBM’s are a highly efficient way to represent a geological layer and all its attributes. This provides an instant way to view and validate stratigraphy or geological logs, allowing for operations to more accurately target the deposit” commented Fajar.
“MICROMINE’s aim to constantly provide software updates for Micromine mean users always have access to the latest tools for use in their day-to-day design and production tasks” added Mulya.
