MICROMINE was in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia from August 7th to 9th to exhibit at the 2017 Diggers and Dealers Mining Forum.
“It was great to see such a large turnout at Diggers this year despite all the talk of a mining downturn. While it’s important to recognise the position the mining and exploration industry is in, the focus of events like this should always be on the latest innovation and technology available to the sector” commented Geobank Product Strategy Manager, Mark Gabbitus.
This leading annual conference combines presentations by listed mining and exploration companies with a large exhibition area housing exhibitors from the sector. With over 2,000 people attending this year, it was the largest turnout for the event since the mining boom in 2012.
Diggers and Dealers marked another great opportunity for potential clients to meet with Mr Gabbitus to discuss and enjoy a demo of the latest version of MICROMINE’s data management solution, Geobank 2017.
“It was a promising few days. I met with many people who were very excited about the enhancements in our latest version and were interested in learning more. We’ll be in contact to see how we can work more closely together.”
Also on display this year was MICROMINE’s new mobile mining application, Pitram Connect. Pitram Connect allows users to access important information about their assets right from their mobile or tablet device. This enables users to save time, reduce radio traffic and the likelihood of misinterpretation, allowing the mine controller to focus on maintaining data integrity without interruption.
Pitram Business Development Manager, Chris Rowohlt said “With the expectation that you should be able to access production information from anywhere, we met with many people who were excited to see Pitram Connect in action. They were pleased with the convenience that the app provides and we look forward to working with them in the future.”
With the event wrapping up on Wednesday, our team got to enjoy themselves at the Gala Dinner held that night before heading back to Perth on Thursday.
