It has been an exciting week for our MICROMINE Brisbane office with the official release event for Micromine 2018 held on Wednesday 23rd May. The event was attended by representatives from across the Queensland mining industry and included a live demonstration of Micromine 2018 and networking opportunities.
Micromine 2018 is the latest version of MICROMINE’s leading exploration and 3D mine design solution and provides users with integrated tools for modelling, estimation, design, optimization and scheduling. The 2018 version includes a range of new features and enhancements that will assist in improving usability and functionality for Micromine users.
Held at Moda on the picturesque Portside Wharf in Brisbane, the event kicked off with a special presentation from Paul Hooykaas who introduced guests to Micromine 2018 and provided an overview of the journey to the release over the past 18 months. Mr. Hooykaas also showcased the new features and enhancements, focusing on how they will benefit the end user.
MICROMINE Business Development Manager Lea Gould commented “the new features and enhancements for Micromine 2018 have a strong focus on usability and will assist in making our clients job easier.”
One of the exciting new features for Micromine 2018 has been the introduction of a new licensing platform which works with or without a dongle and includes the ability to temporarily borrow a network license without the need for a dongle or persistent network connection. This will mean more flexibility for Micromine users.
The new platform maximises utilisation and allows for quick and easy access to the software.
Mr. Hooykaas also provided guests with a live demonstration of Micromine 2018 which allowed guests to see the new features applied in a real-world scenario.
“It was really exciting for our clients to see the new features and enhancements in a live demonstration scenario and we have received some great feedback” Lea added.
Following the presentations, clients were invited to enjoy drinks and canapes overlooking the iconic Brisbane River.
