MICROMINE’s Australian team including CEO, Claire Tuder, were in Melbourne from October 30th to November 2nd to attend the 2017 International Mining and Resources Conference.
IMARC is one of the largest mining conferences in Australia with over 3,500 people from 77 countries attending in 2017. The topic of this year’s conference was creating value through collaboration which was reflected in some of the presentations and workshops held over the four days.
“As one of the biggest events in the Australian mining calendar, IMARC has always been a successful event for MICROMINE. The feedback from the team has been very positive so we’re looking forward to what will develop from our discussions” commented Ms Tuder.
The schedule for Monday consisted of a number of workshops that focused on collaborating to create value. Geobank Product Strategy Manager, Mark Gabbitus, attended the METS Automation and Robotics in Mining workshop.
“With automation such a hot topic in the mining industry at the moment, it was interesting to hear some of the ideas discussed at the workshop” said Mark. He added “the workshop was great fun and it was good to be able to bounce ideas off a bunch of intelligent individuals with differing specialities.”
On Wednesday night, the team attended the IMARC Gala Dinner which was held at Melbourne Town Hall.
“The food and atmosphere were fantastic and the dinner gave us a chance to catch up with everyone outside of the conference. Congratulations to IMARC for such a great week” said Ms Tuder.
