Scotch on the Rocks – An Exclusive Roundup 2019 Networking Event

Centred on the theme of “Elements for Discovery”, Roundup 2019 explored topics such as the role of mineral exploration for a low-carbon future, B.C.’s copper advantage, innovations and emerging technologies. Roundup 2019, is one of the world’s premier technical mineral exploration conferences, held at the Vancouver Convention Centre from January 28th -31st, 2019.

Roundup attracted more than 6,000 people from over 40 countries representing all facets of the mineral exploration industry. Attendees came together to share their latest findings, stories, successes and innovative ideas to further the exploration industry in B.C. and beyond.

On the exhibit floor, the MICROMINE Canada team was represented by Amélie St-Onge – Regional Manager, Jeremy Pestun – Business Development Manager, Joel Jeangrand – Business Development Manager, and Liam Murphy – Training and Support Consultant. The team provided information as to how the newest releases of Micromine 2018 & Geobank 2018 can assist delegates with their mining operations and in meeting their business objectives. They also took this chance to introduce the upcoming release news around MICROMINE’s fleet management software, Pitram, explaining how the software has added artificial intelligence to its features and is set to improve the loading and hauling in underground mines.

On Monday evening, MICROMINE Canada hosted an exclusive networking event, Scotch on the Rocks. The event attracted over 120 of the finest leaders and influencers in the mining industry including geologists, investors, suppliers, government, academics, and prospectors. Attendees indulged in delicious appetisers and drinks, whilst engaging and sharing insights on the mining landscape.

Four scotch/whiskies were chosen from different countries, each representing a geographic direction; North was Canadian Crown Royal XO, East was Scotland’s Singleton of Dufftown, South was American 10-year old Russell’s Reserve, West was Japan’s Nikka from the Barrel. A bottle of Dalwhinnie 15-year old scotch was given to the winner of the business card draw. The office was decorated with a variety of rocks and mineral samples collected from all around Canada, provided by co-sponsor Casa Minerals.

‘’We are delighted that our clients and industry partners decided to join us for a few hours in the busy week of the Roundup Conference. It was very interesting to hear everyone’s opinion on the future of the exploration industry in Canada, to further discuss the hot topic of this year’s conference (copper in BC) and to have the opportunity to thank our clients for their continued trust in our software solutions.’’ said Amélie St-Onge.

MICROMINE Canada continuously organises events that attendees never forget, and we hope to always provide an environment to unwind after the morning meetings; all whilst enjoying the breathtaking view of the Vancouver waterfront from the MICROMINE office.

A big thank you to our co-sponsors MSALABS, Casa Minerals, Terracad & Doubleview Capital.
