Pitram is a fleet management and mine control solution that records, manages and processes mine site data in real-time. It is suitable for surface and underground mines, throughout the construction, development and production processes.
Lee Bothma, MICROMINE Africa’s Sales Manager, has been working with the software for over 7 years, starting out in a technical role. Mr. Bothma has been involved in numerous implementations and projects globally. When asked about how Pitram is able to add value to mining operations, he said, “Mines have a multitude of data sources, from departments, to personnel, and to OME systems. By having the ability to break it down and give you one source of validated and secure data allows the mine to make informed decisions. Gone are the days of being reactive to issues. You now have real-time data and the ability to forecast potential issues and be proactive before an issue occurs.”
Mines are always evolving and the Pitram team ensures the software stays abreast of the evolving needs of a technologically driven industry.
“Pitram has been focused globally on increased safety and efficiency through the use of technology. Africa is only just beginning to follow these trends as labour issues continue to put mining operations under pressure.”
Miners will begin to adapt to a mechanised mine, giving them the ability to predict any delays in their processes based on what their fleet management and mine control systems are telling them.
The world is heading down the road to ‘Digitization’ as corporations and governments are seeing the value in real-time data. Pitram is proof that MICROMINE has been following the right path over the last 2 decades, with the research and inclusion of AI and machine learning techniques in our intuitive mining solutions.
