Every year the MICROMINE HQ team put their hand up to donate their time by volunteering . This year, we teamed up with St Vincent De Paul (Vinnies).
Vinnies is committed to activity and passionately speaking out against the causes of poverty and inequality on behalf of the people they serve. Read all about Vinnies here: www.vinnies.org.au
During November MICROMINE staff worked together with the Vinnies team to wrap Christmas Food Hampers to then be delivered to those who need it this festive season. It was truly touching to see the amount of food kindly donated by generous supporters. Vinnies provided the team with a tour and explanation of how their operation works, explaining that only 25% of what is donated can be sent to the Vinnies retail stores for sale.
Mr. MICROMINE also lent a hand, working with his fellow MICROMINEr’s to get the job done efficiently and provide some Christmas cheer to the hard-working Vinnies team. Youth membership Coordinator, Colin Krause worked with the MICROMINE team to organise and facilitate the volunteering. On the last day, Krause expressed his gratitude to the team saying, “It was an absolute pleasure being able to host such hardworking and friendly people”.
Many of us are fortunate enough to celebrate eat hearty meals and enjoy family events shared during the Christmas season. Unfortunately, there are many in the community that do not have this luxury. Vinnies provided MICROMINE the opportunity to contribute and we thank them for that.
MICROMINE hopes to continue spreading the love this Christmas.
