The team in Africa have used the beginning of the new year to further develop their marketing initiatives and strategies to gain better ROI across activities. MICROMINE Africa, with the help of the Head Office marketing team have partnered with NGAGE, who are a marketing agency based in South Africa.
The aim of partnering with NGAGE is to create increased brand awareness through social media platforms, as well as optimise our engagement with our markets throughout the year. A Facebook and Twitter page were created to help increase our reach and gain more insight into who we were attracting with our social media campaigns. This has given us a better understanding into what works and what essentially doesn’t when it comes to content.
Building up to Mining Indaba 2018, NGAGE received content to help build awareness for the trade show, creating additional traffic through our social platforms. Monray Schoeman, Business Development Manager oversaw the planning behind the Indaba event and getting MICROMINE Africa ready for a great mining show.. MR MICROMINE was kind enough to make an appearance at the Mining Indaba and engage with delegates. Pictures and videos were taken and sent to Ngage to post as content during the course of the Mining Indaba event. Schoeman’s, as well as the MICROMINE Africa team’s effort paid off, as Mining Indaba 2018 proved to be one of the most successful Indaba events in recent years. Putting it in perspective, MICROMINE Africa completed more proposals in the first day than in the whole of the Mining Indaba 2017. Special campaigns were created to help increase interest into MICROMINE software. Separate campaigns were created for Micromine, Geobank, Geobank Mobile and Reactivations of software for our current and prospective customers.
Following Mining Indaba 2018, the team attended Mining and Technical Exhibition (MTE) at Modikwa Platinum Mine. MTE holds 60 exhibitions throughout the year at different mine sites, MICROMINE Africa use the Modikwa Exhibition to do a pilot study and find out if these kinds of events would prove beneficial to sales and brand awareness. The exhibitions consist of mining, manufacturing and governmental companies showcasing their products and services, while the staff of the mine get to enjoy a day off and learn more about what different suppliers have to offer. An interesting assessment was made that no one at Modikwa knew who or what MICROMINE was. We were also the only software supplier at the exhibition. At the end of the day it was quite fortunate we were there, as Lee Bothma, Business Development Manager and Renier Strydom, Regional Manager met with the Manager of Engineering for the mine and have already engaged in doing a Scope of Work for a potential Pitram system, . this is due to happen at the end of March when the rest of the Pitram team is back from the D.R.C.
February was a busy month, and the MICROMINE Africa team will continue the momentum for the last stretch of the financial year.
Make sure to follow us across our Social media platforms for more updates in our region.
