Geobank Training: Administration of Geobank

The Administration of Geobank course is a Level 3 course. It is designed to provide participants with the skills required to configure their own Geobank system.

The course teaches you how to use the Geobank Administrator Module so that you are able to configure Geobank to facilitate the data management business processes of your organisation.

What will I learn?

Upon completion of the course, you will be able to:

  • Understand the relationship between business processes and the configuration of Geobank
  • Register databases and manage data sources
  • Extract Usage tracking information
  • Manage Geobank Settings
  • Set up profiles, task lists and tasks
  • Assign profiles to users or user groups
  • Work with applications and Symbology
  • Manage default projects and languages for users
  • Build queries and custom data views
  • Build data sets and action queries using SQL (Structured Query Language)
  • Configure advanced Imports, exports including Excel imports
  • Configure Macros to group tasks
  • Use Graphic Reporter and the Advanced Reports Module
  • Use the Standard Administrator configuration tools such as lookups and metadata
  • Manage the Data Model Framework settings and validation rules

Prerequisites

 All attendees must have achieved qualification on at least one of the Level 2 courses or have shown significant experience and competence in using Geobank. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance.

How long is the course?

 2 days. All participants will receive comprehensive training notes and training data on disk with the option of purchasing a hard copy manual. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

What style do the courses take?

 Class sizes are usually eight or less participants. This gives plenty of opportunity for individual attention. Hands-on exercises are provided at every stage during the course. Exercises use a broad-based training dataset to highlight common and familiar scenarios. For post-implementation in-house courses, the training can be customised to use your own data and configuration.
